Happy Spring 2021! The spring equinox took place on Saturday 20 March and the farm is gradually coming alive with bird song, daffodils, snowdrops, crocuses and the first bluebell popped open the other day and soon the farm will be the colour purple! Our Ewes’s from our new flock of Welsh Mountain Sheep gave birth to our new lambs who are happily bouncing around the farm.
I am sure you will agree it’s been a long winter/year(!) but hope is in the air and it’s certainly the year of the staycation where the UK will be given an opportunity to show all its glory! Tintern was the first package holiday destination in the UK and has had a revival in the last few years with improved attractions, pubs and restaurants, and this year we are looking forward to the new arrival of the new cycle route between Tintern and the diving centre near Chepstow which is running along the old railway line which originally brought the tourists to Tintern.
At Hill Farm we have also upgraded our accommodation offering to 3 self-contained Yurts and making improvements across the whole site. Our customers have told us they are looking to reconnect with nature after this difficult lockdown and a short break at Hill Farm is just the ticket.
We are looking forward to seeing our guests relaxing and having fun on the farm, and have improved our offering to make your stay even more enjoyable with an upgraded pizza oven a new guest salad and herb garden, as well as continuing to offer woodland Yoga, Shinrin Yoku and holistic treatments.
We are also pleased to announce that breakfast and BBQ packs will be provided by Plump Hill Farm (http://plumphillfarm.co.uk/) who deeply care about animal welfare and breed rare and traditional breed pigs and sheep.
Our room with a view is now open to guests and our yurts will open on the 28 May 2021. As a little thank you to our supporters, we are able to offer you 10% off your booking by typing in HFA10 when checking out. Yurts are available to book Monday to Friday.
